Ready for 2014: New Library Resources: New Interfaces

New Library Catalog, New Devices to Check Out, New Online Videos, New Databases, New Interfaces and More!

New Interfaces Coming Soon!

In addition to the new databases, the Library will have new interfaces coming soon of:

Libguides (likely starting in the Fall and fully up in January, 2015).  The Library research guides will have a new look including enhanced organizational options and easier use for our students more than ever!

The Library Catalog  The Catalog is destined to be a more robust Discovery to books, ebooks and journal articles with hopefully limiters and leads that make better sense for our students.  This is destined to premiere either in the Fall or early 2015, so stay tuned!

Artemis Literary Resources (Previously Literature Resource Center)

ARTEMIS is Gale's new robust literary source database that cross-searches what was Literature Resource Center, Short Story Criticism, LitFinder and the literary criticism sources in Gale Virtual Reference Library.  In the new interface, the main things to remember is that instead of tabs, the main types of resources are listed on the top left, further below are subject headings to help limit your search, and next to each type of resources (such as Literary Criticism), you can view a sample of the most relevant listed or click VIew All on the right to view all literary criticisms to match your search!

LexisNexis Academic

LexisNexis Academic is another of our vendors with an already established new interface change with more enhancements to come later this year.  The vendor is aiming for a "cleaner" look by providing a Google-like searchbox.  Students will need to remember to enter Boolean connectors such as AND.

The Search by Content Type feature on the top right will lead students to the most common types of resources.  Some links to individual or certain search forms are temporarily disabled but should be up later this year.  Have your student contact a librarian if they are having trouble finding a resource.
