Research Paper: Ally Up!

For your research paper, you will focus in on a group's plight that brings up tension for you, but you want to figure out how to be a better ally. We are focusing on marginalized groups that are targeted by oppression. For example maybe you've heard about "Black Lives Matter" movement and you feel frustrated by their tactics. Or maybe every time you hear about gay marriage you get a little tense and part of you doesn't believe in it. These are topics you have to explore. You have to go towards the hard stuff, and once you are there continue heading towards what is fair, just and right.

So, in a 6-8 page essay, you will craft an argument based on your research. Remember, this is not a report. You will draw conclusions and develop your own argument. You will read several articles and develop a stance focused on your analysis of the texts you examine."
