Mind the noise. Construction is underway for the new Library and Learning Connections Building 600.
11/10/22 - The foundation and slab pours have both been completed. In total, the Contractor poured approximately 2100 cubic yards of concrete. A majority of underground utilities have been installed. On November 1st the Steel erection began is expected to be complete around the middle of December. After that, the contractor will start installing the stairs and metal decking.
9/29/22 - Increment 1 of the project is complete. Increment 1 included the Ground Improvement scope (drilling and installation of 273 piers) and the installation of some of the underground utilities and the removal of a section of the colonnade (between B1600 and B1700). The contractor finished installing the remaining site utilities last week and is now in the middle of excavating for the footings. We expect them to begin installing the rebar for the footings around the middle of next week, then begin pouring the concrete for the footings between 9/9 and 9/12. Around the end of October the slab-on-grade will be poured. After that the next major milestone will be the erection of the structural steel which is expected to start near the beginning of November.
