It is best to plan finding your images and graphics in advance.
Keep in mind that cutting out anything from a magazine, journal, newspaper or book from the Library's collection is vandalism.
You can check out books and magazines and can certainly save what you find on the Web onto a flash disk or cloud storage (or Email to yourself the image as an attachment).
Saving onto a flash disk requires you to use the Student Computer Lab (not the reference computers). The Library has one color copier, located to the left of the New Books display (facing toward the display). The cost for copying in color is 50 cents per page. There are also options to enlarge and reduce copy size.
For printing an image, you need to send from a reference desk computer and make sure before printing you select the COLOR PRINTER option. It will go to the Reference Desk GOPRINT release station. The cost for printing in color is 20 center per page.
In OneSearch, select the MultiMedia link from the top left menu bar.
For finding images you may want to add the term "forensic art" to your Google Images search, depending on what you hope to find.
TWO STEP NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC RESEARCH
Search National Geographic in EBSCOhost, you will come across articles, minus the pictures. Be sure to LIMIT your search to National Geographic by publication. The Library has the print of National Geographic going back the last ten years. Write down the Volume Number and Date and go to the check out desk to ask to see the magazine. You can check out the magazine if you want for seven days!
Our copiers DO have the capability ro resize images. Ask for assistance from Library staff to learn how to convert images to your desired size.
